Dr. Tiffany Bonsell

Medical Director

Dr. Tiffany Bonsell grew up in rural Wyoming and has always had a menagerie of companions, including dogs, cats, horses, potbellied pigs, rabbits, and even a pet skunk. She began volunteering at a local veterinary clinic at the age of 12, gaining valuable knowledge and training that would shape her future career.

Tiffany began her formal education in Laramie, Wyoming, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. During the summers, she worked as an animal handler for children’s camps, horse shows, and riding stables. In 1992, she entered veterinary school at Colorado State University and Biomedical Sciences. Her motto for success was: “Study hard, work hard, and have a little fun on the side.”

After graduating in 1996 with a veterinary degree, Tiffany began her career at Howes Cave Animal Hospital. She worked under three experienced veterinarians, learning both the positive and challenging aspects of veterinary medicine. After much blood, sweat, and even a few tears, she became the medical director of Howes Cave Animal Hospital.

Tiffany lives by a “love for animal life” philosophy, and her home is filled with rejected, handicapped, or lost animals. Her deep respect for animal life formed the foundation of her highly successful veterinary practice. Her idea of a perfect night is being at home in pajamas, watching old ’80s movies with a fat cat on her lap, a terrier at her feet, and a three-legged dog sprawled across her hip — all cuddled up next to her husband and teenage son.

Tiffany’s best advice? “Never argue with me — I neuter for a living.”
